About UPS & Our Culture
Every UPS driver who rolls out of a package center owes their entire day to the Part-Time Loader who built their car the night before. Our loaders are among the most skilled hourly workers in the logistics industry — physically fit, methodically precise, and intensely proud of the quality of work they put into every single vehicle. At UPS, these part-time warehouse jobs carry real weight — literally and professionally. If you are searching for UPS part-time jobs that reward physical effort with Teamsters union wages and benefits that compete with full-time positions elsewhere, this is the role that will exceed your expectations from the very first shift.
What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)
"Loading package cars is genuinely satisfying work. You own those cars — the driver depends on your precision for their entire day, and when they come back and compliment your load quality, there is nothing like it. I work a four-hour preload shift before my day job, and between the union wages, the shift differential, and the Earn & Learn tuition money, this UPS part-time warehouse job covers almost all of my monthly expenses." - Current Part-Time Loader, Phoenix, AZ.
Role Overview & Responsibilities
As a UPS Part-Time Loader, you build outbound package car loads in precise delivery sequence order during a focused 3.5 to 5 hour sort shift inside our package center, ensuring every driver departs with a complete, accurately sequenced load ready for a full day of deliveries.
- Sequence Load Building: Load packages into assigned package cars in exact stop-by-stop delivery order, positioning every parcel label-out on the correct shelf position so the driver can pull each stop cleanly without searching through the vehicle.
- Load Quality Compliance: Build every load following UPS-approved stacking methods — heavy items on the floor, fragile packages in protected positions, no overhangs — ensuring load integrity survives a full day of road vibration and frequent door openings.
- Air Package Prioritization: Identify UPS Next Day Air and 2nd Day Air packages at the belt and place them in designated priority positions within the package car before any ground parcel is loaded into that vehicle.
Benefits & Perks
UPS Part-Time Loaders receive full Teamsters union benefits — medical, dental, and vision coverage, pension accrual, and paid personal time — despite working part-time hours. UPS Earn & Learn tuition assistance of up to $25,000 is available, making this one of the most financially valuable part-time warehouse jobs for students and second-job seekers in the market.
