These analytical UPS part-time jobs are built for detail-oriented individuals who prefer a methodical, systems-focused role over raw physical output. What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)
"Scan audit work is exactly what I was looking for in a part-time warehouse job — focused, methodical, and genuinely important. I walk the facility, audit scan compliance on the belts, and flag any package that bypassed the system before it can create a customer service problem. UPS takes this role seriously, the pay is strong for part-time hours, and I am already being discussed for a quality control lead position. This is a UPS part-time job that actually moves your career forward." - Current Part-Time Warehouse Scan Auditor, Seattle, WA.
Role Overview & Responsibilities
As a UPS Part-Time Warehouse Scan Auditor, you conduct real-time scan compliance audits across the active sort floor during your shift, identifying packages that bypassed the automated scan tunnel without a valid read and manually scanning them into the UPS tracking system inside our package center.
- Scan Compliance Monitoring: Patrol active conveyor lines during peak sort windows using a handheld scanner, identifying packages displaying no-read or mis-read alerts and manually scanning each one to restore chain-of-custody accuracy in the UPS tracking system.
- Belt Exception Reporting: Log recurring scan tunnel read-rate failures, barcode damage patterns, and label placement issues in UPS's quality tracking system, escalating any systemic problems to the sort supervisor for corrective maintenance action.
- Load Quality Spot Checks: Conduct random spot audits of package car loads before driver departure, scanning a sample of packages in each vehicle against the assigned route manifest and flagging any confirmed misloads for immediate correction.
Benefits & Perks
UPS Part-Time Warehouse Scan Auditors receive Teamsters union wages, full medical, dental, and vision coverage, pension accrual, paid personal time, and UPS Earn & Learn tuition assistance — all on a part-time schedule. The analytical nature of this role creates a direct pathway into UPS quality control and operations management career tracks, making it one of the highest-upside part-time warehouse jobs in our network.
